Pensions, privacy, the economy

The government's Pension Review Background Paper is out (11.00am).

When it is put up on the web, it'll be here.

Also. the RBA has released its Quarterly Statement (at 11.30am).

It's here, and it is clear that it is worried the economic downturn will go too far.

Also today (at 11.00am) the Government released For Your Information: Australian Privacy Law and Practice, the result of a two-year investigation by the Australian Law Reform Commission.

As you can see from the attached photo - the three-volume report is huge - 295 recommendations.

Almost all privacy problems can be resolved if organisations were required to use "identity providers" when dealing with electronic individual identification. Identity providers built along the lines of www.edentiti.com could be regulated to ensure they did what they said they would do.
