Want to understand the Coalition/Xenophon climate change plan?

Start with Tim Colebatch in today's Age:

"I'VE ALWAYS been in favour of magic puddings. If you can eat your fill, then come back tomorrow to find just as much pie waiting for you, that's the ultimate in free lunches.

So I'm in favour of any system that can deliver twice as much reduction in carbon emissions for a third less cost - as promised by the Frontier Economics plan released yesterday by Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull and independent senator Nick Xenophon.

They argue that, after all the pain the Government has put itself through over emissions trading, it failed to notice another solution that would be cheaper and fairer, hardly hurt at all and yet do more to reduce emissions. Uh-huh..."
