The Treasury Secretary takes a holiday

Ken Henry
is taking five weeks holiday.

This is big news, according to this morning's Daily Telegraph.

"THE man at the helm of Australia's troubled economy will leave his post for nearly five weeks to look after a colony of endangered wombats.

Ken Henry, the Treasury Secretary, will miss an important Reserve Bank board meeting and be without a mobile phone as he ventures into remote Epping Forest National Park in central Queensland.

The Coalition has questioned who will be running economic policy at a 'crucial time'...

The money shot is the photo. Wow!

WTF? So, Ken Henry isn't allowed to take holidays in case his absence damages our trillion dollar (or whatever) economy beyond repair. I think the Daily Telegraph need to take a collective cold shower.

Everyone's entitled to a holiday. The Coalition and the Daily Telegraph are being truly ridiculous with their claims.
